iQOO, for those of you who don’t know, is a subsidiary of Chinese manufacturer Vivo, whose Parent company, in-turn is BBK Electronics. The first smartphone that iQOO launched here in India was the iQOO 3 , which quite surprisingly launched at a good price, considering what it came packed with. It was launched at 37K INR. But in a year’s time, the price’s has dropped significantly. It currently retails at 25K on Flipkart . iQOO 3 Shot on iPhone 5s (Blogger compression killed it -_-) Having got it on Flipkart, I’ve been using the iQOO 3 for about two weeks now and here’s my review of the same. Performance The iQOO 3’s got 2020’s flagship SoC, Snapdragon 865 . And just like any other flagship chip, this too performs exceptionally well. Day-to-day tasks are child’s play and graphically intensive tasks too are handled really well. For me, who previously used the Redmi 7, with the Snapdragon 632, this feels so much faster. What betters the experience is the 8 Gigabytes of DDR5 RAM...
Ever since the Pandemic hit, many who didn't even know what video-conferencing is, have been exposed to various video-conferencing platforms.
As this is going to be our lifeline (when it comes to communication), for the coming days, this blog would be an ideal one to read on :)
Some of the popular video-conferencing platforms right now are, G Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom. Let's see which one's the best among them:
Google Meet:
First up, Google Meet. The one that's being used right now is the transition of Google Hangouts Meet, which wasn't quite popular. That is because, Google's been offering Google Meet free for anyone who owns a Google Account. History aside, let's check out what it offers:
There are two ways by which G Meet can be used:
There are two ways by which G Meet can be used:
- Coupled with Google Workspace (Previously known as G Suite)
- OR, just use it like that, without G Suite.
The one with the G Suite gets way more features than the others.
Some of them are:
Some of them are:
- Better host rights i.e.: The host can Disable Chat, Presentation access (Screen share access) and record the Meet
- Raise Hand feature : There's no need of explanation for this.
- Faster bug fixes
- Generating a Meet Code through and for a Classroom (Google's Platform for sharing and receiving files).
Now that we're done with what's good, let's check the other side of the coin:
- Though the host has the right to mute a person, he/she can't mute/unmute every participant with a single click.
- Audio isn't shared while screen sharing, unless it's on a Chrome Tab.
- The voice identification (for captions) of Indian accent is awful.
- The greatest flaw here is that, if a participant once admitted, can leave the meeting at any point of time and join again without permission. Isn't that ridiculous? I find it ridiculous. Let me know your thoughts on the same in the comments.
- And if you've got to end the Meet and want everyone to exit too, sadly, you can't do that. Only you can leave or remove everyone individually and then exit, which is really frustrating.
Microsoft Teams:
Google's arch rival, Microsoft, too have their very own video-conferencing platform (Skype exists. But this one's more corporate). Teams has a highly sophisticated software, wherein, you can create different Teams (Groups, basically) and share anything you want to, across everyone's who's present in the Team. What has this got to offer?

- Microsoft Teams has a Web App, making it very convenient.
- And as mentioned earlier, the Teams adds on to the convenience, rather than having a separate platform for sharing files and chatting.
- The screen sharing on this one though, is really good, where you get to share audio as well, even when local audio is being played.
- Host rights: Mute participants (individually and everyone), remove participants, record the meet.
- And also, participants can view the chat history even after the meet is ended.
- One more very good feature, that stands out here, is the screen control. Other participants can be given control of the screen that's being shared.
Any drawbacks here?
Nope, as per my and few others' experience, we have never noticed any flaw/drawback. If you have? Let me know in the comments.
Zoom:
Zoom was one of the most popular ones at the start, but now, after the competition laced up, they're facing a little difficulty. Let's know how good this is:
- The software/Web App advantage is always there.
- Lets start off with what it stands out, Screen Share.
Here, you get to share your entire screen or a single window.
What's more here is, you can also share just a part of screen (crop out) or, content from second camera, if you've got one (A secondary external Webcam or a Virtual Camera) and this one's interesting, you can also share just the audio. Isn't that really good? - Host Rights: Allow participants to unmute themselves, mute all with a single click, allow participants to chat publicly with everyone/privately, save chats, and also, the host can lock the meeting once everyone's joined the meeting.
Here too, I've got no complains.
The Final Verdict: Which one's the BEST?
The Final Verdict: Which one's the BEST?
(This is my personal view)
Even though, Microsoft Teams has upper hand when it comes to Software/Web App and Brand, I'd rather go with Zoom, due to some of its features that stand out (Lack in the others).
And this verdict has been considered irrespective of the pricing of any of these!
And also, let me know your personal favourite in comments.
So, you've got 3 options on what to comment (Of course you can comment on all of them!):

So, you've got 3 options on what to comment (Of course you can comment on all of them!):
- Your view on the participant leaving the meet and joining again, without permission, once he/she has been admitted. (Google Meet)
- Any issues faces/flaws in Teams?
- Your personal favourite Video-conferencing platform.
