iQOO 3 : Worth buying in 2021?

iQOO, for those of you who don’t know, is a subsidiary of Chinese manufacturer Vivo, whose Parent company, in-turn is BBK Electronics. The first smartphone that iQOO launched here in India was the iQOO 3 , which quite surprisingly launched at a good price, considering what it came packed with. It was launched at 37K INR. But in a year’s time, the price’s has dropped significantly. It currently retails at 25K on Flipkart . iQOO 3 Shot on iPhone 5s (Blogger compression killed it -_-)  Having got it on Flipkart, I’ve been using the iQOO 3 for about two weeks now and here’s my review of the same.  Performance The iQOO 3’s got 2020’s flagship SoC, Snapdragon 865 . And just like any other flagship chip, this too performs exceptionally well. Day-to-day tasks are child’s play and graphically intensive tasks too are handled really well. For me, who previously used the Redmi 7, with the Snapdragon 632, this feels so much faster. What betters the experience is the 8 Gigabytes of DDR5 RAM...

Moto G 5G! : Should you consider the Cheapest 5G Smartphone?

Recently, Motorola launched its first 5G phone, the Moto G 5G. This time, Moto, going back to the 'g' series, could see the 'real' comeback of Moto. The previous Moto 'g' series smartphones were one of the best offerings in the market. So, what's the Moto G 5G got to offer and should you consider it while buying a new smartphone?
Find out here:

NOTE: This blog is totally based on on-paper specs, which is expected to be close to the real-life experience.
Here are some of its highlights:

Performance:

Moto G 5G is the first ever smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 750G Processor, which, according to Motorola, is quite capable to competing the Snapdragon 765G (Present on OnePlus' Nord).
The Snapdragon 750G has got a 5G Modem built-in, meaning it could get you amazing internet speeds, if you've got access to 5G networks.
The 5G Modem, can also get you better 4G speeds, giving it a upper hand when compared to the 4G modems.
As Motorola claims, the 750G keeps up the expectations, easing through day-to-day tasks and also handling graphically intensive tasks like gaming. The 6GB RAM adds on to the good experience.

Display:

The Moto G 5G comes packed with a massive 6.7 inch IPS LCD 60Hz display, with a resolution of FHD+ (Which Motorola calls "Max Vision display) and support for HDR 10, meaning it can show more colors.
Though display being really good for media consumption, doesn't impress when it comes to one-hand usage, thanks to its huge size.

Battery:

Motorola has crammed in a 5000mAh battery here, making it quite a hefty phone (doesn't look though), weighing 212g. This, coupled with the 20W Fast Charger (which Motorola calls TurboPower charging) in the box, makes it a really good deal.

Cameras:

Moto G 5G has got a Triple-Camera setup, making it one of the very few ones having it: A 48-Megapixel Primary, an 8-Megapixel Ultrawide and a 2-Megapixel Macro. Luckily, there is no 2-Megapixel dept sensor :). Looking at Moto's previous performance when it comes to cameras, this is going to do a decent job.

Software:

One of the main highlights of the Moto G 5G is its Software. While companies are opting to add their own skins on top of Android, Moto's chosen to go with Stock Android with very minor tweaks (My UX is what they call it), allowing bit of customization. This places it way higher than the competition.

Extras:

And oh yes, the legacy continues. Moto's retained NFC on the Indian variant too, as always :), meaning you could totally harness NFC's advantages (Contact-less payment, instant pairing with devices)

Pricing:

The only variant available right now, is 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage, priced at 20,999 INR.
A GREAT DEAL!
It can be bought through Flipkart, here

Having listed all of these, I would blindly recommend you to consider this while buying a new phone around this price range.
And this isn't the only intension of the blog. I want to make people aware of brands like Motorola, which are really UNDERRATED.

Hope you liked it :)

OBS Studio: Makes your Video Conferencing / Recording MUCH BETTER!

In the recent past, the companies that have gained huge popularity are Video-conferencing and online learning platforms (Byjus' and WhiteHatJr).  And so is the popularity for screen recorders and virtual-cameras. You might've heard of screen recorders and Video-conferencing software, but what's a virtual-camera? A camera without hardware? Absolutely not!  A virtual-camera is something that can output/stream video wherever you want it to.  Virtual Camera on OBS:  OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is a widely used open-source streaming/recording software. As the name suggests, it helps you with streaming/recording content from you PC.  Image Courtesy: Elegant Themes How to use it?  Here's a mini-guide on how it can be useful to you If you've got to configure your video, i.e, crop out, adjust the lighting (through software though: Brightness) and all other kinds of configurations, here's how you've to do it.   In the "Sources" Window in the bott...

5G Bands! : Which one should your smartphone have?

There are many brands out there selling smartphones with the 5G naming/sticker. That’s of course because the smartphone would have a built-in 5G modem. But wait, just a modem doesn’t make it 5G capable. You’ve got to have bands supporting the frequency that’s provided in the country.  Image Courtesy: Unsplash So, to explain in simple terms, it’s like having a basket’s diameter a little more than the ball’s, in basketball. If the ball’s got to enter the basket, it’s(the basket) surely got to have a greater diameter. It’s the same here. Specific bands are required for specific frequencies. Here’s what you’ve got to be aware of: 5G, in India will most probably start rolling out with 3.3GHz frequency, ‘ initially ’. And the only band that supports this frequency is the n78 . If the smartphone you’re looking to buy has got the n78 band, you can go for it, at your own risk. And I say that because the frequency spectrum isn’t quite confirmed yet. What you’ve not got to do is buy a 5G capa...
