iQOO 3 : Worth buying in 2021?

iQOO, for those of you who don’t know, is a subsidiary of Chinese manufacturer Vivo, whose Parent company, in-turn is BBK Electronics. The first smartphone that iQOO launched here in India was the iQOO 3 , which quite surprisingly launched at a good price, considering what it came packed with. It was launched at 37K INR. But in a year’s time, the price’s has dropped significantly. It currently retails at 25K on Flipkart . iQOO 3 Shot on iPhone 5s (Blogger compression killed it -_-)  Having got it on Flipkart, I’ve been using the iQOO 3 for about two weeks now and here’s my review of the same.  Performance The iQOO 3’s got 2020’s flagship SoC, Snapdragon 865 . And just like any other flagship chip, this too performs exceptionally well. Day-to-day tasks are child’s play and graphically intensive tasks too are handled really well. For me, who previously used the Redmi 7, with the Snapdragon 632, this feels so much faster. What betters the experience is the 8 Gigabytes of DDR5 RAM...

iPhone 12 launched! : All you need to know!

In my previous blog, I had mentioned some of the expected specs of the iPhone 12 lineup. While some leaks were confirmed, few were new ones that no leaks told about. And guess what, the first thing that was announced about the iPhone was that it has 5G. Let's find out what all the iPhone 12 lineup is packed with?

Firstly, let's know about how many iPhones exist in the iPhone 12 lineup?

  1. iPhone 12
  2. iPhone 12 mini
  3. iPhone 12 Pro
  4. iPhone 12 Pro Max
What's the difference? Here it is:

The iPhone 12 and the 12 mini have the exact same specifications except for the display size. It is 6.1 inch on the iPhone 12 and a 5.4 inch one on the mini, both of them being a Super Retina XDR display. That's compact! Here are the specs of the iPhone 12 and the 12 mini:

They're powered by the A14 Bionic chipset, which is the fastest chipset in the world with a 6 Core CPU and a 4 Core GPU with a massive 50% increase in CPU and GPU performances (Compared to the A13 Bionic). And 5G of course. And also, the A14 is built on a 5nm fabrication process (First in the world)

  • The Cameras: Both of them have a dual-camera setup (No Macro Cameras xD): A 12 Megapixel Primary and a 12 Megapixel Ultrawide, both of which take amazing shots both during day and night. Speaking of which, all the iPhone 12s come with night mode that lets you capture as much detail as you do in daylight.
  • Ceramic Shield: This time, according to Apple, the protection is 4 times the previous iPhones.
  • Charging: There's not going to be a charger included in the box. Just the USB-C to Lightning Cable. You will be able to charge your iPhone using any Certified Adapter with a Type-C output. The wireless charging on the new lineup of iPhones has improved: MagSafe is new, improved charging technology that can make wireless charging more convenient than ever.
  • And as always, beautiful Apple Software, iOS.
  • Colours: Black, White, (PRODUCT)Red, Green and Blue.

Now, let's know more about the 'Pro' variants of the iPhone 12 lineup. Again, there are 2 'Pro' variants, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, which have majorly 2 differences: Display size and cameras.
The iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1-inch display while the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display, the largest by Apple till date (Super Retina XDR).

Both, the iPhone 12 Pro and the 12 Pro Max have a Triple-camera setup: A 12-Megapixel Primary,  a 12-Megapixel Ultrawide and a 12-Megapixel Telephoto lens. The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a higher hand in the telephoto camera, retaining same detail with 2.5x optical zoom, over 2x Optical zoom on the iPhone 12 Pro.
Both of them also have a LiDAR sensor, taking the AR experience on the new iPhones to the Next-level. Some other common specs of the iPhone 12 Pro and the 12 Pro Max:

  • The only other difference in the Price, which we'll know about in a bit.

OBS Studio: Makes your Video Conferencing / Recording MUCH BETTER!

In the recent past, the companies that have gained huge popularity are Video-conferencing and online learning platforms (Byjus' and WhiteHatJr).  And so is the popularity for screen recorders and virtual-cameras. You might've heard of screen recorders and Video-conferencing software, but what's a virtual-camera? A camera without hardware? Absolutely not!  A virtual-camera is something that can output/stream video wherever you want it to.  Virtual Camera on OBS:  OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is a widely used open-source streaming/recording software. As the name suggests, it helps you with streaming/recording content from you PC.  Image Courtesy: Elegant Themes How to use it?  Here's a mini-guide on how it can be useful to you If you've got to configure your video, i.e, crop out, adjust the lighting (through software though: Brightness) and all other kinds of configurations, here's how you've to do it.   In the "Sources" Window in the bott...

5G Bands! : Which one should your smartphone have?

There are many brands out there selling smartphones with the 5G naming/sticker. That’s of course because the smartphone would have a built-in 5G modem. But wait, just a modem doesn’t make it 5G capable. You’ve got to have bands supporting the frequency that’s provided in the country.  Image Courtesy: Unsplash So, to explain in simple terms, it’s like having a basket’s diameter a little more than the ball’s, in basketball. If the ball’s got to enter the basket, it’s(the basket) surely got to have a greater diameter. It’s the same here. Specific bands are required for specific frequencies. Here’s what you’ve got to be aware of: 5G, in India will most probably start rolling out with 3.3GHz frequency, ‘ initially ’. And the only band that supports this frequency is the n78 . If the smartphone you’re looking to buy has got the n78 band, you can go for it, at your own risk. And I say that because the frequency spectrum isn’t quite confirmed yet. What you’ve not got to do is buy a 5G capa...
