iQOO, for those of you who don’t know, is a subsidiary of Chinese manufacturer Vivo, whose Parent company, in-turn is BBK Electronics. The first smartphone that iQOO launched here in India was the iQOO 3 , which quite surprisingly launched at a good price, considering what it came packed with. It was launched at 37K INR. But in a year’s time, the price’s has dropped significantly. It currently retails at 25K on Flipkart . iQOO 3 Shot on iPhone 5s (Blogger compression killed it -_-) Having got it on Flipkart, I’ve been using the iQOO 3 for about two weeks now and here’s my review of the same. Performance The iQOO 3’s got 2020’s flagship SoC, Snapdragon 865 . And just like any other flagship chip, this too performs exceptionally well. Day-to-day tasks are child’s play and graphically intensive tasks too are handled really well. For me, who previously used the Redmi 7, with the Snapdragon 632, this feels so much faster. What betters the experience is the 8 Gigabytes of DDR5 RAM...
The much anticipated Apple Event took place on the 15th of September. As always, this launch too, by Apple was done in a very aesthetic manner. Their product videos were just amazing. The first question that comes to one's mind after listening to 'Apple Launch' is "Did they launch the new iPhone?" So, let's find out what all happened in the event in short.
A couple of launches took place. Here are some highlights of each product launched.
Apple Watch:
The Series 6 Apple Watch was launched in the Time Flies Event. As always, the specs here justify it to be the best smartwatch on the planet. It is powered by the S6 chipset based on the A13 Bionic, which is on the iPhone 11. It also has an always-on-display, increased accuracy in fitness tracking and Apple has also continued the legacy of SOS in the watch. The software here also is an upgrade: WatchOS 7. This time, Apple hasn't missed out on the SpO2 Sensor (Blood Oxygen sensor) as well.
Along with the Series 6, the more affordable Apple Watch SE was also launched. This has almost the same, very handy features as the Series 6, but with a little lighter chipset, the S5.
The prices of the Series 6 and SE are $399 and $279 respectively, which is really good pricing considering how much they provide. However, the price becomes less exciting in India, due to import duties.
The 8th Gen iPad along with the new iPad Air was launched in the event. The latest generation iPad is powered by the highly-capable A12 Bionic Processor, which has a 6-Core CPU and a 4-Core GPU, making the performance phenomenal. This along with iPad OS and the accessories (Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard) makes it a great productivity house.
We also got to see the new iPad Air, which will surely blow anyone's mind. This machine is powered by the latest A14 Bionic Chipset, which has amazing CPU and GPU performance. Not just performance, it has also got a full-screen display, making the experience much more immersive. And guess what, Apple has also retained the Touch ID, which is now integrated with the power button. For now, this RULES the productivity segment.
The prices of the 8th Gen iPad and the new iPad Air are $329 and $599 respectively. Special mention: The 8th Gen iPad costs $299 for students (Education).
Apple One:
This is a plan that gives all Apple services together: iCloud( Cloud Storage), Apple TV+ (Apple Originals Shows), Apple Arcade (Games) and Apple Music (The name suggests).
This costs about $14.95 if used individually and $19.95 for the family plan, which can be used by 5 members with extra iCloud Storage. The Premier plan ($29.95), however, gets 2 extra services: Apple New+ and Apple Fitness+
