iQOO 3 : Worth buying in 2021?

iQOO, for those of you who don’t know, is a subsidiary of Chinese manufacturer Vivo, whose Parent company, in-turn is BBK Electronics. The first smartphone that iQOO launched here in India was the iQOO 3 , which quite surprisingly launched at a good price, considering what it came packed with. It was launched at 37K INR. But in a year’s time, the price’s has dropped significantly. It currently retails at 25K on Flipkart . iQOO 3 Shot on iPhone 5s (Blogger compression killed it -_-)  Having got it on Flipkart, I’ve been using the iQOO 3 for about two weeks now and here’s my review of the same.  Performance The iQOO 3’s got 2020’s flagship SoC, Snapdragon 865 . And just like any other flagship chip, this too performs exceptionally well. Day-to-day tasks are child’s play and graphically intensive tasks too are handled really well. For me, who previously used the Redmi 7, with the Snapdragon 632, this feels so much faster. What betters the experience is the 8 Gigabytes of DDR5 RAM...

iPhone 12 : All you need to know!

In the past few days, we've got to see many leaks/renders of the iPhone 12. Leaks show many surprising aspects of the new iPhone. Let's check them out :

The Size :

In most of the leaks, we can see that the size of the iPhone is small, compared to what other smartphone brands are coming up with (6.9 inches ; 7 inches). The size of the base variant may be similar to the SE 2020, but without the bezels. It might have the same notch as the 11 or XR (iPhone Standard). The size here is small most probably because they might launch 2 other variants with a larger screen/body.

The Cameras :

After looking at the camera setup through the leaks, we might get into a misconception that it has a Quad-Camera Setup. But no, as per the leaks, the iPhone 12 is expected to have a Dual-Camera setup for the base variants, whereas a Triple-Camera for the top variant (Most probably iPhone 12 Pro Max, glad no Ultra here). The fourth one there isn't a camera, but a LiDar sensor that Apple included in the iPad Pro this year. It's mainly useful for AR-related tasks, mainly measuring distances.

The Price :

One important factor for iPhones not selling in India as much as they do in the USA is the "PRICING".
This time, MAYBE, Apple is planning to cut off the supply of Charging adapter and the Lightning Cable in the box. This may be one of  the options that they're adapting to reduce the cost. Just the Lightning Cable can be purchased separately, through which it can be charged when plugged into any certified adapter (Qualcomm QC 3.0; QC 4.0).

One Big Question that's there in everyone's mind : Is the iPhone 12 going to be manufactured in India?

The answer is YES :
The iPhone 12 will be assembled (not exactly 'manufactured') in India. BUT, not just after the launch. It's going to be fully imported for the first few months after launch, but eventually, after a few months, maybe somewhere around the mid-2021, it might be manufactured in India. Their new contractor, Wistron Infocomm Manufacturing (India) Private Limited, located in Narasapura near Bengaluru has taken the contract of assembling the iPhone 12 in India. They've already started assembling iPhone 11.

OBS Studio: Makes your Video Conferencing / Recording MUCH BETTER!

In the recent past, the companies that have gained huge popularity are Video-conferencing and online learning platforms (Byjus' and WhiteHatJr).  And so is the popularity for screen recorders and virtual-cameras. You might've heard of screen recorders and Video-conferencing software, but what's a virtual-camera? A camera without hardware? Absolutely not!  A virtual-camera is something that can output/stream video wherever you want it to.  Virtual Camera on OBS:  OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is a widely used open-source streaming/recording software. As the name suggests, it helps you with streaming/recording content from you PC.  Image Courtesy: Elegant Themes How to use it?  Here's a mini-guide on how it can be useful to you If you've got to configure your video, i.e, crop out, adjust the lighting (through software though: Brightness) and all other kinds of configurations, here's how you've to do it.   In the "Sources" Window in the bott...

2020 8th Gen iPads: Can it replace your current PC?

In the Second Apple event this year, the new generation iPads were launched featuring massive upgrades , which wasn't quite expected. The iPad 10.2 8th Gen and the iPad Air were launched in that event, both of which have featured in my previous blog ( Check it out here if you haven't yet ). Which one's the best value among them (including the Pro) and can it replace your laptop / consider it for your new laptop? Know it here:  Here's a bit about the iPad 10.2 Inch 8th Gen: Image Courtesy: Apple Powered by the A12 Bionic , which featured in the iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR, was considered a very efficient and extremely powerful and capable chipset. Here too, the iPad 10.2 Inch 8th Gen delivers and it flies over our expectation. The A12 Bionic, along with the verywell optimised iPadOS , outperforms most budget laptops.  I'm saying this because, most budget PCs struggle to get past Video Editing.  It's " Cake Walk " for the iPad.  .
